Potential

Norhan is an Egyptian/American singer-songwriter and performer. Some of Norhan’s main vocal influences are Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Kehlani, Nessa Barret and Elyanna. After her National Anthem performance for the Big Ten Athletics at the State Farm Center, her eagerness to sing in a sold out stadium again motivated her to never give up on her dream, even though it may be looked down upon within her culture. Growing up as an Egyptian American, Norhan often felt lost and unsure of where she belonged. She explains she was “too Arab to be American, but too American to be Arab”. Norhan is determined to always use her experiences-good and bad- to write music that makes people feel happy, confident, and seen in difficult times, regardless of the cultural struggles she faces within her community. She always seems to find herself again when creating music and knows that this is her calling. Now, Norhan confidently embraces both of her worlds and is working on music that combines Arabic and English sounds, hoping to pave a path in the music world for other Arab Americans and help make them feel less alone.
